I was born in Philadelphia's Chinatown and moved to a sheep farm in Bucks County at age three. This historic farm, once home to Pennsylvania Impressionist painter Daniel Garber, profoundly influenced my childhood due to our family's artistic connection to his legacy.
Growing up in Quaker schools surrounded by artists—including my father, grandmother, grandfather, great aunt, and cousins—and driven by my own love for art, I eventually moved to New York City.
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Fine Art with honors from New York University and subsequently lived and worked in Manhattan for ten years. During that time, I painted in my East Village apartment, designed window displays, taught elementary art, and continued exhibiting my contemporary paintings. I developed a deep connection to New York City, which remains a source of inspiration.
Currently, my husband Andrew and our three children reside on a nine-acre farm in Buckingham, Pennsylvania. We have transformed this 200-year-old property into a community of artist studios, renting space to sculptors, painters, and metal fabricators. Our property also includes a bronze casting foundry and fabrication division. My painting studio, with thirty-foot ceilings, is in our bank barn, a wonderful space where I create my paintings and multimedia sculptures. I always welcome visits from friends and clients.
